About

What We Believe

We confess the historic Christian faith as expressed in Scripture and faithfully summarized in the great creeds and confessions. As a Reformed Baptist congregation, we gladly subscribe to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as our fullest statement of doctrine, and we hold it as a faithful guide — under the Word of God — for teaching, worship, and life together.

The Holy Scriptures

The Bible, both Old and New Testament, is the verbal, plenary, God-breathed Word of God — sixty-six books, inerrant in the original writings, and the final and ultimate authority for the people of God. (II Tim. 3:16-17; Matt. 5:18; II Pet. 1:21-22)

The Triune God

There is one God, infinitely divine, existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each wholly possessing the fullness of the divine essence, undivided in substance, power, and eternity. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; John 1:1-4)

God the Father

Sovereign and unchanging, complete in wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth — the Father is God, neither begotten nor proceeding. (Ex. 3:14; Deut. 4:15-18; John 4:24; Num. 23:19)

God the Son

The eternal Son became man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, to reveal God and redeem sinners — dying a substitutionary death, rising bodily from the grave, and now exalted at God's right hand as our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1:1, 14; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 7:25)

God the Holy Spirit

A divine person, not merely an influence — he convinces the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, regenerates sinners, indwells and sanctifies believers, and will never depart from the Church or the weakest believer. (John 14:16-17, 26; 16:13-15; Acts 5:3-4; Eph. 4:30)

Man

Created in the image and likeness of God, man fell in Adam: the whole being is affected and cursed by sin, so that, left to himself, he is lost and utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Gen. 1:26-27; Eph. 2:1-3; Rom. 5:12)

Salvation

Salvation is the free gift of God by grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone — and all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and secure in Christ forever. (John 1:12; 10:27-30; Eph. 2:8-9; I Pet. 1:5)

Sanctification

Following regeneration, the believer undergoes a lifelong renovation of the inner man in thought, will, affection, and appetite — by the Spirit's power, more and more transformed into the image of Christ, and continually delivered from the power of remaining sin. (Rom. 8:29-30; II Cor. 3:18; Ezek. 36:27)

The Church

The church is the body and bride of Christ, made up of all born-again persons, and the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught in the New Testament Scriptures. (Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27; Acts 14:27; I Tim. 3:1-13)

The Lord's Supper

All born-again believers are invited to partake of the Lord's Supper — the bread and the cup given for our remembrance of him. (Mark 14:22-25; I Cor. 11:23-24)

The Second Coming

Jesus will return bodily to deliver his people, execute judgment upon the living and the dead, abolish all earthly rule, authority, and power, put an end to the last enemy, which is death, and reconcile all things to himself. (Acts 1:11; Titus 2:12-13; John 14:3; Rev. 1:7)

The Eternal State

Those who have rejected Christ remain after death in conscious torment until the final judgment; all who have believed enter his presence at death and will dwell with him forever in glory. (Luke 16:19-26; II Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:1-4)
